A BBCC Gallery Promoting the Progression of Counseling in Bhutan


The purpose of the BBCC is:

  1. Protecting the clients
  2. Protecting the profession
  3. Standardizing the profession in the country
  4. Monitoring and supervising
  5. Maintaining the national network of counseling professionals
  6. Facilitating continuing education
  7. Awarding certificates
  8. Facilitating the award of licenses to practice
  9. Cooperating with other concerned agencies to support the profession
  10. Conforming to international standards and practices

The following policies have specified the need for qualified, competent professionals providing counseling services:

  1. The Domestic Violence Prevention Act 2013
  2. Suicide Prevention in Bhutan – A Three Year Action Plan (July 2015-June 2018)
  3. Bhutan Medical and Health Council Act (BMHCA)
  4. Child Care and Protection Act 2013
